Elopement at Lake Königssee in Berchtesgaden Nationalpark

Autumn Elopement magic in southern Germany.

Welcome to the land of Berchtesgaden. A magical place in the south of Germany, cradled by ancient mountains with mighty peaks. The most majestic of these is the Watzmann, a giant of stone whose rugged silhouette watches over the land like a guardian. At the heart of it lay the shimmering Königssee, a lake of saphire waters whispering secrets of the ages.

In this land Lena & Julius created their very own fairytale. Two days of adventure. Two days of exploring, hiking, admiring the ever changing colours of autumn, watching the first light rays illuminate snow-capped peaks - celebrating their love for each other & the great outdoors.

Day 1

Jenner mountain ceremony & exploring around Königssee

Day 1 started with us taking the Jennerbahn from Schönau up to the Jenner Mountain, which towers at a mighty 1800m. Here they shared their emotional first look, overlooking the snowcapped Berchtesgadener Alps. The ceremony also took place here with only a handful of guests. After eating a hearty meal at the Jenneralm, it was time to put on hiking shoes and conquer the summit. And explore lake Königssee on foot afterwards, hiking along its riverbank and passing well-known lookouts such as the Malerwinkel.

The day ended with re-joining the guests and a home-cooked dinner.

Day 2

Sunrise hike & row-boat vows at lake Hintersee

The next morning we all got up extra early to catch the sunrise at a hiddem gem spot overlooking the Königssee and the Rabenwand. We met at a parking lot in the dark with head torches and set off into the forest. The sunrise was moody and the clouds lay low to create a mystical vibe.

After resting up for a few hours we met again at lake Hintersee in Ramsau Berchtesgaden to indulge in some cake and coffee, take a walk with their dog Carlos through the fairy forest (Zauberwald) and finally explore the lake by row boat. Paddling the emerald waters Lena & Julius shared their vows in complete privacy. What a beautiful adventure this was.
